Shoes, shoes shoes!!

This past week I have gotten good deals on some shoes. In the middle of spring cleaning to finding out I have many pairs but you can never have to many!

For the first deal, I was looking at getting new flats with starting my new corporate job. I knew I would not want to wear heels everyday, plus flats are great for casual Friday's. The only pair of flats that I have found that were comfortable were Michael Kors, which meant spending $100 on each pair. That is until I spotted these three pairs! They are similar and comfortable to the MK's one just on the more reasonable. I got all three for what I would of paid for one pair of MK.

The next deal I went to the opening of Nordstrom Rack. Great place to shop for designer brands at a slash in prices. If you are located near me, this new store is now open across from Baybrook Mall. 

I am a big fan of TOMS so I was happy to get three good deals! 

The regular canvas TOMS in kids originally $40, I got these grey ones for $21. 

The multicolored wedges are originally $70, I got them for $40. 

My favorite of the three a pair the strappy sandals are in a teal color. Originally are $70-100, I got these for $55. 

Current must have in every color & print top!

These tops are what I have been obsessing over for months now. Many, many colors and prints to choose from! Just a cute button down top that can be worn to the office with dress pants or skirt. Or everyday, tucked out with jeans.

I have found these types of tops in two places. Express Portofino Top or a brand I like at JC Penny's the A.n.a sleeve roll Top. Little more pricey at Express for $49.90  the Penny's A.n.a brand is half at $20. 

Wedding Guest Dress.

I have had many comments over this dress and asked where I got it from. I wore this dress to my cousin's wedding last weekend.

Another find at Express this is the Pleated Keyhole Fit & Flare Dress. $79.90

I fell in love with this dress and especially the color when I saw it. A very fitted dress up top to the waste and then flares out. Great dancing dress!!! The great thing about Express is if they do not have the color or size available in store, they will order it right there and ship it free to your house. The color here says light blue but it is more a mint color. Many other colors are available. 

I paired this dress with my Michael Kors nude heels. Earrings were a salmon color found at JC Penny's Liz Claiborne Collection. It was also a cold weekend in Dallas so I had to go buy a wrap that I also got at Penny's in a salmon color. I mixed this color with the mint to make it a spring time look. 

Old fashion look for a night out at the theater!

This is one of my favorite outfits I have put together! This was last year when I had a date night out with my Bestie to the theater. It's a modern, printed floral dress that I accented with pearl earrings and necklace and wore my cat eyed sunglasses.

This dress is another from Express, the Cami Sundress. Just a casual comfy dress that can be dressed up or down for everyday. Best thing they have pockets!

New Years 2015.

For my first post of an outfit I am going to take it back to new years.  It was new years so of course I wanted to go with something sparkly and fun. Yet I did not want to do the usual black, silver or white. So I went with gold with a pop of emerald color.

These went quick for this site. I had to pre-order mine as they kept running out. They did have various colors but now only have the red in stock. So I'd say get them while you can for maybe Christmas or Valentines day next go around.

I have been wanting a pair of nude heels for the longest time and finally as a birthday gift to myself bought me these pair. They are so comfortable that I am going to buy them in black also.

New Beginnings!

So this crazy idea of a blog begins! As I am starting a new chapter in my life of what could become my future I start this. Little about myself, I am a southern girl from Texas, a chihuahua Mom, and currently finishing up my last year at UHCL in business, while now getting ready to start at my first corporate job.

Background of why I picked the name for this blog. I feel I am an old soul and being old fashioned. Be it fashion, tv, movies and values. Yet I am a girl who is living in the modern day. So Modern Lucille is a homage to both with Lucille being picked from one of my all time favorite icons Lucille Ball. 

I have always thought of doing this, and now with getting into a big girl career where I will be able to wear what I want everyday in clothes, make- up ect, I thought I would create an outlet for myself along with it. Here I will post day to day outfits be it for work or play and post where each piece comes from. I am also a make-up fanatic and will post some of my products I find. Currently an Ipsy subscriber so that is helping my addiction. I do try to show on a budget but do splurge at times when I can't help it!
